Bowen Therapy Salamander Bay is uniquely Australian, Bowen Therapy was developed in the 1950’s in Geelong, Victoria, by Tom Bowen.
Hence the name Bowen Therapy or Bowenwork.
It was after Tom Bowen’s death in 1982 that one of his students began to teach Bowen Therapy as it became known. Since then Bowen Therapy has made its way around the world, all the while endeavouring to stay true to Tom Bowen’s work.
Bowen Training Australia RTO#41134, delivers nationally-recognised Certificate IV in Bowen Therapy 10533NAT and Diploma of Specialised Bowen Therapy 10534NAT.

Bowen Therapy Salamander Bay
Bowen, is a gentle form of body work where subtle moves are performed over muscles and connective tissue sending messages to our autonomic nervous system. This allows the body to relax and therefore promote balance and wellbeing.
Results can be remarkable and often only a few sessions are needed to correct the presenting problem. There are essential pauses during a session that allow the body time to respond and begin the healing process.
Unlike many other body therapies, the Bowen Therapy does not use forceful manipulation.
Conditions that may respond well to Bowen Therapy include:
back pain and sciatica
digestive and bowel problems
ear-ache, headache, migraine
knee, ankle and foot problems
neck/shoulder problems
menstrual and hormonal irregularities
groin pain, pelvic tilt
respiratory problems, sinusitis
RSI, carpal tunnel syndrome and tennis elbow
sports and accident injuries
